Midnight Magnolia
An old family friend had the most beautiful magnolia tree...a very old tree, planted when the old homestead was first built.
The magnificent tree produced these beautiful flowers year after year and was still flowering long after the house had gone.

Jim's Dad.
Jim's Dad was a good horseman and a farmer. The photograph that I used to paint this picture is quite old and shows the type of houses which were quite common at the time ...usually referred to as miner's cottages, they were also popular for housing on small land holdings. < Private Collection.

The Houses on the Hill
I can't say that I have been the most energetic of artists recently.
Somehow my 'muse' seems to be on holiday and apparently has very little inclination to return.
However, I am determined to puddle along. "Puddle" seems to be a very appropriate word!
This small painting is a view from the end of my street.
Materials: W&N watercolour on Arches Rough 300gsm
Size: Approx. 26cm x 20cm

Jim The Fisherman
This is an acrylic painting on canvas.
The subject is my late husband who was a keen freshwater fisherman.
He loved nothing better than camping on the banks of the Murray River, with boat, plenty of bait and fishing from first light until sundown.
During the long summer holidays, our two girls and I usually joined him...sometimes fishing, but also swimming and water skiing.
The floppy cloth hat that he wears in this painting was a vital part of his fishing gear...along with rods ...and bait of course! Private Collection.
