The subject is my late husband who was a keen freshwater fisherman.
He loved nothing better than camping on the banks of the Murray River,with boat,plenty of bait and fishing from first light until sundown.
During the long summer holidays, our two girls and I usually joined him...sometimes fishing, but also swimming and water skiing.
The floppy cloth hat that he wears in this painting was a vital part of his fishing gear...along with rods ...and bait of course! Private Collection.
