Woman in the Mirror

I am still trawling through my archives....I find it is interesting to remind myself of where I have been and (hopefully) discover another path to future works. So far the going is slow. This composition is based around a young model who used to pose for our life drawing group. SOLD

Sandy!
Thank you so much!I really appreciate your support,

I am in such a doldrum!
I suppose it is part of a cycle...I do hope so.
I am looking forward to finding my way out.

Is this old or new? Wow, what an idea, it looks like you cut a piece out of a Renoir. This is something to develop - maybe leave this as is, but more PLEASE!!!

Hi Nick ...thank you for your support. Are you back at home after your holiday?
This is an "oldie" I somehow cannot get my head in the right place yet..but I know things will get better.
Our life drawing group has started again for this year.Maybe the challenge will get me going again.

A real delight to look into.

Thanks David! This was actually a commission...one of the very few commissions I actually enjoyed doing!!
Are you back home now?

Oh Sandra, I adore everything about this!
The irises in the foreground partially obscuring the round mirror which bears the reflection of this gorgeous woman who seems unaware she is being watched has an art deco feel. Perhaps it is her bobbed hair style, it is also this short hair which allows her back to be fully seen – the lines that follow the spine and curves of the lower back create a very sensual appeal.. I must agree with David here, “a real delight to look into”
Get those paints out for those life drawing sessions :)
Love, always love

Hi Patricia...you know, what I really liked about this pose was 'almost' exactly what you describe, but it was the vulnerability of the neck that I think of as the focus ..of course the "bob" enhances this effect!
Life drawing is on again today!! Yeah!! I love it...but it's hard work!!

Thanks Nick....I really quite enjoyed doing this one...but I don't do commissions any more...I hate trying to please...I just want to do what I want! With this one there were no conditions so it was not too hard to cope with.
