Girl Reading

I have been "playing" with watercolour on yupo...Relaxing , experimenting and enjoying is probably a more accurate description. My reference is a photograph I took at a meeting...not at all a likeness of the woman nor the room...simply a starting point. Yupo is fun to use... watercolour doesn't sink in to the "plastic" surface and "mistakes' are easily removed. For this image, I used a foam roller,to blend colours, a window squee-gee for lines and to move some paint about, a waterspray and crumpled tissues for textures.

Thanks Patricia...I am pleased you like this painting.
I am still practising the techniques. When I get more confident and have a subject to get me inspired I will go for bigger (but not too big!)

Love the warm palette and all the textures Sandy. And you attracted the eye of the "other Sandy" which is a very good sign! i'm impressed that it isn't really apparent that it's on Yupo - you achieved a lot of what it does best without the from-across-the-gallery-that's-Yupo effect. So you finally found it down there? How big can you get it? I tried for a long time to get it in rolls, and finally gave up.

Thank you Nick! Always great to get your comments!
The "other Sandy's" work is inspirational...and her tips are very helpful.
It didn't take too long to find yupo here ...I just Googled to find the nearest distributor to where I live....as it turned out, it was not too far away.( Good "old Google"!!!)
I haven't asked about rolls but the size I get is 420mm x 594mm (16 1/2" x 23 1/2")
